Miriam du Toit
Finance and Operations Director
Miriam du Toit has worked in the NGO sector both as manager and board member for more than 40 years. Her experience in NGO management includes Finances, Human Resources, Fundraising, Strategy and Governance. She obtained her qualification in management including Finance & HR management from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business. Emanating from her experience in business she has a keen interest in coaching and mentoring managers/owners of SMMEs. Miriam has worked with a few International NGO’s as an HR and Finance consultant. Miriam was on the Boards of Amandla Development Trust, Zamepilo Trust and Community Connections. She has been the Finance and HR Director of the African Monitor since 2007.
Joseph Eliabson Maniragena
Senior programmes Coordinator
Joseph holds a master’s in public management from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT/Cape Town) and an Executive Development Certificate in Management for NPOs from the University of Stellenbosch Business School.
Puseletso Maile
Research and Advocacy Coordinator
Puseletso is currently completing her Master’s degree in Data Science and has a strong background in Policy and Research Writing. She is skilled in various evaluation approaches and methods, with hands-on experience in project monitoring and evaluation. She is crucial in advancing South Africa’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda. She coordinates civil society participation in the 2024 Voluntary National Review (VNR) and supports movement-building efforts within the South African CSO Working Group. Her responsibilities encompass networking, advocacy, capacity building, research, program management, and organizing public engagement. Working closely with the African Monitor team and the SAWG Steering Group, she promotes collective action to accelerate the comprehensive implementation of the SDGs.
Ameerah Abrahams
Media & Programmes Support
Ameerah holds an Honours degree in International Politics from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Stellenbosch University, where she triple-majored in Political Science, English Literature, and Psychology. Before joining African Monitor, she gained valuable experience in media through her work with a marketing firm. At African Monitor, Ameerah provides critical administrative and logistical support for program activities and plays a key role in communicating the organization’s mission and projects. She manages social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and Facebook, and handles website updates, creating and curating content to share event reports and outcomes. Her work ensures high visibility and engagement with African Monitor’s audience.
Nangamso Kwinana
Programmes Officer
Nangamso is currently completing her BA in International Relations at UNISA and plays a pivotal role at African Monitor. She coordinates the South African Civil Society Organisations Working Group on SDGs (SAWG-SDGs) and the Open SDGs Club South Africa, driving civil society's contribution to the sustainable development goals. Additionally, she leads Africa region coordination for the Global Forum for National SDGs Advisory Bodies and co-chairs the Civil Society Forum on the New Development Bank (CSF-NDB). With experience hosting the Let’s Talk Human Rights podcast series, engaging with human rights defenders across Sub-Saharan Africa, and managing multi-stakeholder initiatives like a women’s leadership program, Nangamso brings valuable expertise in regional coordination, campaign management, and participatory democracy, advancing human rights and sustainable development across Africa.
Anda Mondileki
Finance & Admin officer
Anda holds a National Diploma in Office Management and Technology from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and serves as the Finance and Administrative Assistant at African Monitor. In her role, she manages daily office operations, ensures compliance with finance and administrative policies, maintains financial records, and oversees all physical assets. Additionally, Anda supports the programs team by providing guidance and helping prepare requisitions and supporting documents for record-keeping. She also coordinates with IT support and other service providers to ensure smooth operational functionality.
